Departure from Koprivnica at 6:00 am from the parking lot opposite Podravka’s office building. A comfortable drive by bus, with frequent stops along the way, towards Karlovac. We stop for a quick visit to the freshwater aquarium AQUATIKA in Karlovac. No other European country has such diverse and well-preserved rivers as Croatia. Our rivers are huge but still remain undiscovered treasures. The Aquarium show cases the flora and fauna of Croatian rivers and lakes, their geological past, the traditional culture and the history of the basin of the four rivers of Karlovac - Korana, Kupa, Mrežnica and Dobra. Guided sightseeing tour with a brief leisurely stop by the Korana river.
At an agreed time, our trip continues in the direction of Smiljan. A visit and guided tour of the Memorial Centre "Nikola Tesla": Tesla's birth house, Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul, Tesla’s test station, multimedia centre, playground, etc. Next, a short stop at Gospić where lunch at a rural homestead is organised and free time for a brief rest.
The next stop is Slunj and the water front resort of Rastoke. Sightseeing of Rastoke includes a watermill village where the river Slunjčica flows through sedimentary rocks into the river Korana, creating a natural orchestra of waterfalls, rapids and ponds. A local guide dressed as a "Rastoka fairy or miller" will explain the sights and lead you into the "Rastoke Fairytale" where you will also see an impressive demonstration of an old watermill from the 17th century. After sightseeing, some brief personal free time will be available. Departure at agreed time. Stops as necessary.
